This employer is currently remediating their holiday pay.
This means they have accepted they have incorrectly calculated annual leave and public holiday entitlements in the past and owe workers money for that.
This usually includes current and former employees back to whatever date they accept liability for - usually at least six years.
This may be a voluntary process or because they were being investigated by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Enterprise (MBIE).
Ravensdown have told us that they "undertook an independent audit in 2018, to review how the business met its payroll obligations under the Holidays Act. This was undertaken by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and they found very little in the way of issues, stating it was one of the cleanest payrolls they had audited. There was one issue around the way that a company bonus scheme was interpreted and the business undertook to have PWC re-calculate payments for all current and exited staff for the previous six years under the amended interpretation and where any payments are due will make those to both current and exited staff once the final calculations are signed off.
